Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is the most active form of vitamin D and is better absorbed by our bodies than vitamin D2. It plays an essential role in the absorption and maintenance of calcium, which is important for strong bones and teeth. In addition, vitamin D3 supports normal immune system function, helps normal muscle function and plays a role in the cell division process.

Vitamin D deficiency?
Although our bodies are capable of making vitamin D, many people are still deficient in this vitamin. This can be particularly true in people with darker skin tones, because melanin in the skin can reduce vitamin D synthesis. The elderly also often have a reduced ability to produce vitamin D. In addition, people who do not get outside much, those who follow certain religious dress codes and those in northern areas where the sun is less strong are at increased risk of vitamin D deficiency. To supplement this deficiency, we can take vitamin D supplements.
