Product description
Glutamine plays an important role in muscle growth and recovery after physical exercise. It also helps support the immune system and digestion.

Glutamine is the most abundant naturally occurring amino acid in muscle tissue, comprising more than 50% of skeletal muscle tissue. Glutamine is not an essential amino acid because it is a derivative of glutamic acid, which can be synthesised from the amino acids arginine, ornithine and proline; however, the body can easily deplete its supply. This makes ʟ-glutamine conditionally essential in certain disease states to support intestinal barrier and immune function, as well as overall protein utilisation. Glutamine is a valuable precursor for the synthesis of glutathione, the body's most powerful antioxidant.

Glutamine also reduces catabolism (the breakdown of muscle tissue), the process by which glutamine leaves the muscle, leaving muscle cells dehydrated.

Glutamine supplementation ensures that enough glutamine remains in the cells, minimising dehydration and catabolism. Supplementation prevents glutamine depletion in muscle cells after workouts. Studies have shown that supplementation with ʟ-glutamine is effective in replacing these declining levels.
