Hyaluron (hyaluronic acid or HA) is a glycosaminoglycan that is frequently found in connective tissue, epithelial tissue and nerve tissue. Hyaluron is a special substance that can retain an enormous amount of water (moisture). With sufficient hyaluron in the skin layers, sufficient moisture is retained in the skin. With a shortage of hyaluron there is less moisture and less volume in the skin. Existing wrinkles and lines then become more visible. HA retains the moisture and thus provides and tighter and smoother skin.
Hyaluron is naturally present in the epidermis and dermis. The molecule retains moisture and thus provides a firm smooth "young" skin. With age, the amount of hyaluron in the skin decreases. With injections, hyaluron can be added to the skin. Hyaluron added to creams has a limited effect because the molecules do not penetrate deep enough. Hyaluron consumed orally, as a dietary supplement, is difficult to absorb in the digestive system. Packaged as a liposome, absorption is optimal.
Hyaluron is suitable for all skin types; dry, oily, sensitive.
