Lagerstroemia speciosa L. or the Banaba tree is related to the cattail. The plant grows in the Philippines, among other places, and the leaves have long been used traditionally here. The leaves contain, among other things, corosolic acid, an important substance from the Banaba tree.
The Banaba extract in Glucofit is standardized at 18% corosolic acid. Glucofit contains 480 mcg of corosolic acid per softgel.
