Pippali (Holisan)
Description

Pippali or long grain pepper is related to black pepper. The plant is native to north-eastern and southern India and is also found in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The elongated fruits of this plant are 2.5 to 3.5 cm long and 5 mm thick. The colour is black-green and the fragrance is aromatic.

Pippali, a warming stimulant, reduces mucus formation in the lungs, stimulates the liver and improves digestion.
